Bashar Jackson, also popularly known as the pseudonym Pop Smoke (July 20th 1999-February 19th, 2020), was an American songwriter and rapper. Victor Victor Worldwide signed him. Pop Smoke also made music with Republic Records. Pop Smoke became popular for his Brooklyn drill sound following his collaboration together with UK drill producer 808Melo Axl Beats, Yoz Beatz, and 808Melo Axl Beats. Welcome to the Party, the lead single from the debut mixtape Meet the Woo released in the summer of 2019. was released by him on April 19, 2019. The remixes for the song Welcome to the Party were done in August by American rapper Nicki Minaj as well as British artist Skepta. The debut mixtape of Pop Smoke Meet the Woo was released by Pop Smoke in April 2019. The track Welcome to the Party is the album's main track. It was then recorded and remixed with Nicki Minaj in the first version, and Skepta in the second version which was released in August of this year. The usage of UK drill production was evident in the song and later in his entire discography. This was because of the frequent collaborations 808Melo, who is a British drill maker.
